Haven

about

A social enterprise focused on commemorating the ingenuity and resilience of African and African-descended peoples through knowledge preservation, sharing, and creation.

The first major project under TKH is The Re-Memory Project at Fort Saint Jago in Elmina, Ghana. This UNESCO World Heritage site will be transformed into a haven of remembrance and innovation, combining cultural heritage preservation with modern educational and creative practices.

Our work is grounded in the belief that history and culture are living entities, deserving of continuous care, adaptation, and revitalization.

Through our subsidiary, Small Crowdd, we produce impactful art, films, events, and storytelling that honor the past and create new spaces for cultural expression and growth. Our goal is to build inclusive environments both physical and digital—where the African Diaspora can come together to learn, heal, and grow.

The Re-Memory Project

The Re-Memory Project is The Knowledge Haven’s (TKH) inaugural initiative to transform Fort St. Jago, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Elmina, Ghana, into a community haven. This project goes beyond the traditional memorial museum model by creating a space that not only honors the African Diaspora’s history but also fosters innovation, exploration, and community growth.
